Concepto.
The Viper is a glider specially designed for practicing F3F and F3B.
Designed entirely by 3D computer methods and virtual wind tunnel, the design has been so refined to make the Viper the final machine.
Designed with a revolutionary wing with "S" plant, which minimizes the parasitic resistance produced by the interaction between wings and fuselage, improving the glide ratio.
It also incorporates one piece ailerons which end on the wingtip, Also the flaps end in the fuselage without Karmans.
This is really interesting in this kind of planes which used to fly "flapped" resulting in multiple neutral points of the flaps and ailerons depending on the phase in which we are flying.
This design of rudders modify the entire trailing edge of the wing eliminating the vortex created by the deflexion of them at tips and also in the fuselage.
The design has been fully performed by Rhinoceros Mac platform and Solid Edge to create solids, and the aerodynamic design has been contrasted with XFLR5 and its virtual wind tunnel.
Masters of wings and stabilizers are milled in plastic boards. After that they was hand polished. Later we have moulded, gelcoat and ceramic molds.
The fuselage is produced in aluminum milled molds, using carbon HM with internal pressure above 4 bar, which provides extremely rigid airframe with minimum weight, as the compression obtained by this system is similar as we could achieve in an autoclave oven.
The wings are manufactured in herex sandwich with Textreme carbon skins, with pre cured carbon and balsa spars. It has ribs to improve torsional rigidity.
For controlling the surfaces you could choose from the new RDH system. Or the standard system, which is provided with the model. If you want another type of systems please ask for it.
The model comes with a full ballast set, for wings, fuse, and joiner, all of them made in brass.
With this set you could reach the maximum FAI weight without needing Tungsten. You could ballast your plane only in the fuselage easily and fast without dismantling the wings, Really useful for days with changing winds which requieres few ballast.
The option of ballasting in the fuse (To 550 g in this tube) let's us reduce the weight that in other models should be in the wings, this is and advantage as you could reduce the weight on the wings and as a result increase maneuverability.
